Exams. Day 1.
Sunday, May 08, 2005
Friday, 6th of May. Exam Day one.
Lessons of the day:
1. Do not arm wrestle with strong ppl like Derek 5 mins before the start of the exam.
2. When the invigilator says "write your last sentence", you can write as much as you want until youput the full stop.
3. Do NOT get Shouren to help you with your Chem.
Explanations.
1. Self explanatory. Painful. >.<
2. Ms Phuan: "Ok, write your last sentence"
*everyone writes*
3 minutes later...
*Ted kin still madly scribbling*
Ms Phuan: " Ted Kin!"
Ted Kin: "What?!?! I'm still writing my last sentence!"
Ms Phuan: " One paragraph is a sentence??"
Ted Kin: " But I haven't put in the full stop yet."
3. He comes to the library, imediately grabs a book and plonks himself down on a couch to read it.
Despite repeated prodding, he refuses to help. So I grab a copy of Scientic american and proceed to read about the ineffectiveness of the US$110 billion USA Missile Defence Shield.
I finish the magazine, and he finishes the book.
Me: " Great, you can help me with my chem now."
Shouren:" Uhhh.... i have to go for a dental appointment... like now."
Amazing isn't it.
I shall say no more.

The test.
Sunday, March 27, 2005
The student stares at the ticking clock,
His face long and drawn,
He cannot overcome this mental block,
His mind conjures up a result sheet torn.
He stares blankly at the approaching day,
Regretting his foolish deeds,
Knowing finally the price to pay,
Of being in this creed.
The test draws ever near,
The numbers still seem ever blur,
He cannot help but fear,
The final day when the results appear.
He thinks all is lost,
He believes that he will fail,
He knows that he has lost this toss,
And watches his hope set sail.
But at his table, he is suddenly awakened,
By a refreshing draught of cool air,
He looks up and sees,
Who else but his teacher there.
The teacher sits down beside him then,
And explains the numbers the way thats right,
He tries the questions and thats when,
He realises that he's seen the light.
After the test, its results time,
Its the results, and many sigh,
He takes one look at his marks,
And tears flow freely from his eyes.
He walks up to his teacher then and there,
Clutching his paper to his chest,
And thanks his teacher for being fair,
And knows that this teacher's best.
To my dearest Maths teacher, Mr. Azmi.

The Seer.
Friday, March 25, 2005
May you live in interesting times.
A curse in a blessing's clothing,
Though you may think them silly rhymes,
Next to them, you are nothing.
You scorn my weakness and fraility,
You laugh at a weird old man,
Yet when the wolves swarm your precious farms,
You seek my help, and I began.
You live in interesting times indeed,
That much, I can say,
The undead ghouls you will feed,
Long before your hair turns gray.
Your malice will not help you now,
Neither would your children's hate,
Even if to me you bow,
You cannot change your final fate.
When the undead begin their cursed quest,
You villagers will take up shield and sword.
You will fight well and do your best,
But the enemy you will not ward.
All this I know, I have forseen,
And when the time comes I shall not fear,
For visiting the dead king i have been,
And thus he knows that I'm a seer.
He says you'll pay for your reckless words,
That your race will die by his decree,
And from what I've seen as a farseer bird,
Who am I to disagree?

Fair.
Wednesday, March 23, 2005
The sweet sound of tinkling bells,
The brillant rides bathed in light,
The poor boy will so tell,
He's never been to a place so bright.
Locked in his cellar for night and day,
By unworthy parents who do not care,
He will tell you, he will say,
He's never seen a sight so fair.
His caretakers look at him and smile,
Watching him marvel is a lovely sight,
Then they think of things that they saw on file,
And they knew they've done whats right.
His parents took his early years,
To waste and to make merry,
To play upon his greatest fears,
And then him they were to bury.
But the world was not so weak,
That it would stand by and watch him die,
Though the parents went to court to wreak,
Havoc and to reason why,
The world stood firm and downed the freaks,
And said the child need no longer cry.
So he runs to the nearest ride,
Completely forgotten is his own plight,
Then he is caught up in the gleeful tide,
And cries of joy soon ring the night.

Unfinished Business.
Tuesday, March 22, 2005
Their gleeful ghosts glide over there,
The spectres of my broken oaths,
That they be here is only fair,
This fate was one I've wove.
My masters came and my masters left,
With my given and honoured word,
But the answers were too quick and deft,
And my oath then seemed just absurd.
So my promises I have not kept,
My pledges I nought obeyed,
Tis no surprise my honour sapped,
By the Spectre of my Homeworks' Wait.

So be it.
Friday, March 18, 2005
hmmm... strapped for cash, a pair of broken goggles (which of course I have to pay for myself) and my Battlebots drill has spontaneously combusted. Which, contrary to whatever you people out there think, Is NOT a good thing, for heavens sake, its my ISO Project! now quit talking about the potential dangers of lethal weaponary, cos its more likely that you'll get killed by static from your computer screen right now than my Battlebots drill hurting anyone, regardless of its state of combustion.
Now, what else was I talking about? nothing Important was it? So be it.
Ah yes, my story blogs dead, In case you people havent noticed. I just got mighty tired when i realised i already had a 16789 word count and i was only at chapter 21. Plus, It draws too much of my energy which could be put to better use, like looking for a gir...waitajustamomentthere..... I didnt say anything. And now, considering I didnt say anything at all, my Logic matrix says it would be a good time to get out of the country. Fast.(Who said a Logic matrix has to be logical? Just because something has the word "logic" is in its name don't mean its always well... logical.)
P.S Thank God my tagboard is permanently down, so you freaks out there won't have a chance to whack me. Whew.

How worrying?
Why this? why that? why me? why should I?
What stupid questions my mind asks me.
I think I'm going a bit unstable, but, then again, who isn't?
I'd like to thank the friends of mine who cheered me up these few days.
Thanks.

Finding Neverland
Tuesday, February 08, 2005
Went to watch
Finding Neverland at Marina today with kenny and the others for our LA movie review assignment thing.
Pretty good movie overall.
Note: Marina GV is very annoying place to go to for a movie. because the lesiureplex is in a different building from Marina Square.
Firstly, We missed the huge "idiot-proof" sign pointing to GV marina >.<, then we climed up instead of down the staircase into the restricted area >.< which caused the security guard to chase us and call us back. then we went up the wrong staircase, which caused us to reenter the building we were leaving. so, after the 16 minutes plus of hopeless navigation, we finally made it into the theatre. At that point, Fabriz's mood was like " If there arent any tickets, im gonna kill someone."
To which darrels answer was: "philip you'd better stay close to him just in case, we'd be at safe distance."
Philip was pretty funny, he:
1. slept through most of the movie, meaning that he most definitely can't write a movie review for LA.
2. Ate 40% of all the popcorn (3 buckets was the total)
3. Made poor zephy guard our bags then went to toilet, saw that all the urinals were taken, and said " I think I don't want to piss anymore." and walked back.
4. At lunch, "I think I'm not hungry anymore." Rest of us:"*@%$%@%@$^)(*&@!%$!"

This Barren Peak.
Saturday, February 05, 2005
I Stand Alone On This Barren Peak.
I stand alone on this barren peak.
Watching the dust swirl beneath.
The parched earth and broken creeks,
Was this the future I did seek?
As I look back on my early days,
This dead world thus meets my gaze.
The howl of the wind, This lifeless land,
The billion ghosts of these burning sands.
My mind it was so thus made up,
As my finger pressed the button stub.
I wanted to rid this world of us,
And so the moment came to pass.
Somewhere in the depths of space,
Tiny rockets flared to life,
So began the end of all we faced,
The final end of all this strife.
The comets hurtled towards the Earth,
Their unchangeable will brought to bear,
The looming threat of boiling surf,
The death of all that we did care.
Only the best could board the ships,
The cream of the crop, And those in kind.
But what of the billions they had left behind?
The people cowered behind their pride,
Believing the lies of their planets strength,
Thinking that it could surely stand,
Against a foe with such puny rank.
But that we know, was not to be,
Their scientists were never right,
Only later did they see,
That the comets had just too much might.
The people then screamed in pain,
As the hammers smashed into their world,
They cursed me as their eternal bane.
As the fire through their planet whirled.
I danced with glee, for I had wrought,
The final victory, the final thought.
My enemies were down on Earth,
While I was sure of my spaceships worth.
But now then, I cannot say,
That I am happy with my old ways.
For with the death of the planet Earth,
Was born a new thing to curse.
There was no one left for me to hate,
No assassins for me to kill,
Only storms that wont abate,
And glassy plains with brainless krill.
And over the years the loneliness came,
As I walked round this world of mine,
Picking up skulls of nameless foes,
Fishing bones from the poisoned brine.
Eons passed with me standing there,
With an empty feeling in my heart,
The pain of loss too much to bear,
For my love and I were worlds apart.
When the survivors left this horizon bleak,
They had vowed to one day kill the freak.
So now when I see their ships again,
I think about the friends theyve lost,
And the revenge that they would surely seek.
So I stand tall against the wind,
As their ships slowly circle in,
And I welcome them with open arm,
And so this world becomes my cairn.
